Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett is being sued by a neighbor of his Malibu residence for doing an illegal renovation on his home, according to a report from TMZ.

The suit also claims that there are untrimmed trees on Garnett's property, worth a reported $9.5 million, that are blocking the view of the neighbor's home.

According to the report, Garnett did not obtain the sufficient building permits when he started remodeling his house this year. It even claims that Garnett lied to Malibu city officials about what he was going to do on the property.

More from TMZ:

The neighbor says he tried to complain to KG -- but both Kevin and his wife "scoffed" and "stonewalled" them as if they couldn't be bothered. Now, the neighbor is suing for damages ... PLUS he wants the judge to FORCE the Garnett's to remove everything that's blocking his view, stat!!!

Garnett averaged a career-low 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds last season.
