It's been a big weekend for Chandler Parsons

The same day as Parsons learned he would officially become a member of the Dallas Mavericks, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported Parsons is set to join another roster: Team USA.

Stein reported the 25-year-old Parsons' appointment to the USA basketball team's roster would come Monday morning. Parsons will join a preliminary roster that includes the likes of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, and more.

Team USA is set to compete in the FIBA World Cup later this summer. The final roster must be trimmed to 12 before the competition.

The news came the same day Parsons learned the Houston Rockets would not match the Mavericks' three-year, $46.1 million offer sheet. Parsons played three seasons in Houston, averaging 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game over that span. Last season, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and four assists.
