Chandler Parsons signing with the Mavericks won't affect the Rockets, so says Houston center Dwight Howard, according to an Associated Press report on Friday.

The Rockets declined to match the three-year, $46.1 million offer sheet Dallas gave the swingman, but Howard isn't fazed.

"It won't affect us at all," the 28-year-old Howard said of the three-year veteran out of Florida leaving. "We have myself and James [Harden]. We have the best center and the best two guard in the game on the same team. It's on us."

Parsons averaged a career-high 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists last season. Howard wished the 25-year-old well with Dallas, but he's very high on the Rockets' newest acquisition, forward Trevor Ariza.

"He'll go through a wall for you," Howard said of Ariza, who was his teammate with the Magic for parts of three seasons. "Just to have soldiers on your team like that is great. We have that one-two punch with me and James. We're filling out our roster with guys who are willing to go through that wall and doing whatever it takes to win."
