NBA to hold first ever exhibition game in South Africa in August 2015

The NBA will hold its first ever exhibition game in South Africa in August 2015, deputy commissioner Mark Tatum announced on Tuesday.

Tatum announced proceeds from the game will be donated to charity. Specific details, including the location and arena, will be announced in the coming months, according to Tatum.

The USA basketball men's national team will make its first ever stop in Africa later this month. On Aug. 27, the team will host a clinic for local boys and girls in Dakar, Republic of Senegal. The team begins play in the FIBA Basketball World Cup three days later in Spain.
