Tuesday September 2nd, 2014

Anderson Varejao said he wants to re-sign and finish his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he told HoopsHype's Raul Barrigon.

Varejao, 31, has played all ten seasons of his career with the Cavaliers and is entering the final year of his contract, which will pay him $9.7 million this season.

From HoopsHype's Q&A with Varejao:

LeBron James molds unique NBA legacy

You will be in a contract year this season. What do you expect?

AV: I want to stay in Cleveland, I really don't think about that. They know what I want to do, they know I want to stay.

Would you like to retire in Cleveland?

AV: I want to.

Varejao averaged 8.4 points and 9.7 rebounds last season. He is currently playing for Brazil in the FIBA World Cup in Spain.

The Cavaliers signed LeBron James and traded for Kevin Love this summer after finishing last season 33-49. Cleveland also hired David Blatt to be the team's head coach.
