Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL and could be out up to six weeks, according to Chris Haynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group

Haynes reports that Dellavedova sustained a Grade II MCL sprain during Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Knicks' J.R. Smith suspended one game for hitting Glen Rice Jr. in groin

Dellavedova, Cleveland's backup point guard, is averaging 2.7 points and 2.3 assists in 19.7 minutes per game this season. As a rookie last season, he averaged 4.7 points and 2.6 assists in 17.7 minutes per game.

The injury leaves Will Cherry, a rookie from the University of Montana, as the backup to Kyrie Irving
