New Orleans took the court without Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday, but Evans saved the day with a difficult winning basket.

With the score tied at 93 and the clock under 10 seconds, Evans milked some clock and drove to his right past Greivis Vasquez. As he turned the corner, Amir Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas attempted to provide help in the paint, forcing Evans to angle away from the basket and loft a floater. The soft-touch shot banked high off the glass and in with 1.6 seconds remaining.

A DeMar DeRozan three-pointer at the buzzer was no good and the Pelicans escaped with the two-point victory.

Evans finished with a game-high 26 points, five rebounds and five assists. Alexis Ajinca added 22 points (on 10-of-13 shooting), six rebounds and three assists.

DeRozan led the Raptors with 22 points and three rebounds. Vasquez added 16 points and nine assists off the bench.

New Orleans improved to 20-20. Toronto fell to 26-14.
