Beverley was not originally scheduled to participate in the event but replaced Washington Wizards guard John Wall after Wall pulled out due to injury.

Beverley, 26, is in his third NBA season. He was a second-round pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008 but did not make the team and spent three seasons playing in Europe.
