Nike reveals KD7 'Weatherman' line with Doppler-themed graphics

Once Nike pounced on Kevin Durant’s love of meteorology, they haven’t let up.

First releasing a “Weatherman” theme with the KD4 in 2011, Nike has followed up future iterations of the KD line with weatherman-inspired colorways.

Now fire up the Doppler for the KD7.

The weather-themed storyline was revealed in June 2014 as a key component of the KD7’s overall inspiration, tying to lightning and thunder. Of course, 'thunder' has multiple meanings for Durant.

The full KD7 Weatherman colorway, which becomes available March 5, has Doppler radar-inspired graphics wrapping the shoe’s heel, Swoosh and outsole. Nike says the green upper pays homage to newsroom green screens used by meteorologists.

Now we’ll wait and see what’s in the forecast for future Durant sneaker lines.
