Washington forward Rasual Butler then heaved a half-court, desperation shot just before the buzzer in an attempt to tie the game, but Wittman had already begun walking toward the locker room.

John Wall led all scorers with 34 points in 41 minutes, while Hill led the Pacers with 29 points.
