The Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals after Rockets shooting guard James Harden failed to get a shot off while down 99–98 in the final seconds.

After the Warriors' Harrison Barnes missed a shot with seven seconds remaining, Harden grabbed the rebound with a chance to win the game.

Harden passed the ball to center Dwight Howard at the top of the perimeter, who gave it back to Harden with two seconds left. Harden then lost his handle while facing pressure from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the buzzer sounded.

After the game ended, Harden could be seen tearing down an arena curtain in frustration.

​Harden led all scorers with 38 points and added 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Curry led the Warriors with 33 points. Both shot 13 for 21 from the field. 

Golden State has a 2–0 series lead as the series shifts to Houston.
