Report: Wizards acquire Bucks' Jared Dudley to replace Paul Pierce
The Washington Wizards have agreed to acquire small forward Jared Dudley in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, reports ESPN’s Marc Stein.
The trade, which cannot be finalized until July 9, will have Dudley’s contract absorbed by the Wizards into a trade exception. The Bucks will receive a future second-round draft pick in exchange.
Shortly before free agency started earlier this week, Dudley exercised the $4.25 million option for the last year of his contract with the Bucks.
In 72 games last season with Milwaukee, Dudley averaged 8.2 points and 3.1 rebounds over 23.8 minutes. He also shot 38.5% from three-point range, marking an all-around improvement from the season he spent with the Los Angeles Clippers before he was traded to the Bucks.

The trade also fills a void on the wing for the Wizards after Paul Pierceagreed to sign a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
Dudley, who will turn 30 next week, has played eight NBA seasons with the Bucks, Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets. He acknowledged the trade in a tweet Thursday night.
