Free-agent center Marc Gasol has agreed to re-sign with the Memphis Grizzlies.
ESPN.com reported last week that Gasol was not scheduling meetings with any teams interested in him besides the Grizzlies. NBA free agency began on July 1, but deals cannot be officially signed until July 9.
Gasol has spent all of his seven-year NBA career in Memphis. The 30-year-old averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 2014–15 and received All-NBA First Team honors. He also shot 49.4% from the field and recorded 1.6 blocks per game.
The Grizzlies finished 55–27 last season and reached the Western Conference semifinals, where they fell to the eventual-champion Golden State Warriors in six games.
