Report: Drew Gooden returning to Wizards on one-year deal

Free-agent forward Drew Gooden will return to the Washington Wizards after signing a one-year, $3.3 million contract, reports Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski and TNT’s David Aldridge.

Gooden, 33, appeared in 51 games for the Wizards last season, his second with the team. He averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds over 16.9 minutes while the Wizards finished 46–36 before losing to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Over 13 NBA seasons, Gooden has averaged 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in stints with 10 NBA teams. The No. 4 pick in the 2002 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, Gooden spent the most time with the Cleveland Cavaliers (four seasons) and Milwaukee Bucks (three).

Earlier in free agency, the Wizards signed swingman Alan Anderson and guard Gary Neal. They also acquired forward Jared Dudleyin a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks last week.
