The Toronto Raptors have hired former Chicago Bulls assistant coach Andy Greer to join head coach Dwane Casey’s staff, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports

Greer will be in charge of Toronto’s defense, Wojnarowski reports.

Greer, 52, coached in the college ranks from 1983–2001 before joining Jeff Van Gundy’s staff with the New York Knicks. Van Gundy was fired 19 games into Greer’s first season on the New York bench but the two were reunited in 2003 with the Houston Rockets

While in Houston, Greer worked with Tom Thibodeau, who later hired him as an assistant with the Chicago Bulls. Greer was a member of Thibodeau’s staff for all five seasons he spent in Chicago, before being fired at the end of this season.
