Tyler Ennis will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum and will not be able to play for Canada in the upcoming FIBA Americas tournament in Mexico, according to SNY's Adam Zagoria.

The Canadian men look to make their first Summer Games since 2000. The top two teams from the tournament will earn qualifying berths for next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Other teams looking to do the same are Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Uruguay and Mexico.

Ennis was expected to be an integral part of Canada's young team that may include Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson and Kelly Olynyk.

The guard appeared in 33 games as a rookie with the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks while averaging 3.7 points and 2.2 assists per game.
