The Cleveland Cavaliers and Russian center Alexander “Sasha” Kaun have agreed to a two-year contract, Bleacher Report’s David Pick reports

Kaun, 30, toured Cleveland last week, Cleveland.com’s Chris Haynes reported, quoting a source as saying “it's only a matter of time” before the two parties came to an agreement.

Kaun spent the past six seasons in his native Russia with European power CSKA Moscow. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game during the Euroleague season last year.

Kaun went to high school in Florida and played four seasons at the University of Kansas. The Seattle Supersonics drafted Kaun in the second round in 2008 and sold his NBA rights to the Cavs on draft day.

In June, Kaun told the Lawrence Journal-World that he was finished playing in Europe and was looking to move to the NBA.

In Cleveland, Kaun will be reunited with his Russian national team coach, David Blatt, and will compete with fellow Russian big man Timofey Mozgov for playing time.
