Lakers rookie guard D’Angelo Russell has a bone bruise in his right foot, coach Byron Scott told reporters on Thursday.

Russell participated in all of practice except for “the last few minutes,” according to Lakers beat reporter Mike Trudell. Scott added the injury was considered minor at that point.

Russell, the No. 2 pick in June’s NBA draft, said he felt “fine” and that he just needed to take better care to ice the foot.

“It’s like when I stop, it tightens up,” Russell said. “It’s just a bruise. It’s all good. We’ll figure out some different ways around it.”

Los Angeles will play its first preseason game against the Jazz in Hawaii on Sunday. The Lakers’ regular-season opener is set for Oct. 28 against the Timberwolves in Los Angeles.
