Klay Thompson responds to Doc Rivers’s playoff ‘luck’ comments
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson responded to comments made by Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers on how luck factored into the Warriors’ postseason success.
“I wanted to play the Clippers last year, but they couldn’t handle their business,” Thompson told ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss.
“If we got lucky, look at our record against them last year,” he added. “I'm pretty sure we smacked them.”
Thompson's comments were in reaction to Rivers’s recent interview with Grantland’s Zach Lowe, in which the coach said, “You need luck in the West. Look at Golden State. They didn't have to play us or the Spurs.”

The 25-year-old NBA champion went on to say that Rivers’s comments sounded bitter.
The Warriors beat the Clippers in three of four regular-season meetings last season. Golden State and Los Angeles face each other Oct. 20 at Staples Center for a preseason game.
