• Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson’s holdout could last well into the season as both sides have stopped communicating, reports Chris Hayes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

• Knicks head coach Derek Fisher suggested New York could be this year’s version of the 2014–15 Atlanta Hawks, reports Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press. The Hawks won 60 games and finished first in the Eastern Conference last year.
