Cavs guard J.R. Smith leaves game with right knee contusion
Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith left Monday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first half with a right knee contusion, reports Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
According to the report, Smith will not return to the game.
At the time of Smith’s departure from the court due to the injury, he had only played five minutes and was 0-for-1 shooting.
Reports suggest that Smith’s knee injury is not serious and should not keep him sidelined for too long following Monday’s game.
Entering Monday, Smith was averaging 6.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 29 minutes per game through three games this season.
The 30-year-old dealt with a hamstring injury for much of training camp.
