Pacers center Myles Turner fractures thumb, out at least four weeks

Indiana Pacers rookie Myles Turnersustained a chip fracture in his left thumb in Indiana’s 102–91 win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The team initially believed the injury was a sprain, and announced during the second quarter that Turner would not return to the game. The team expects him to miss at least four weeks.

Turner is consulting with team medical staff “regarding the next steps in repair and recovery.”

Turner, a 6'11" center, was the No. 11 pick in this year’s draft out of Texas. The 19-year-old is averaging 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in eight games this season.

Indiana improved to 5–4 with the win.

The Pacers host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
