Warriors’ Stephen Curry already has four 20-point quarters this season
Last season, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook lead the NBA with four 20-point quarters. In 10 games this season, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has already had four.
In Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves Curry scored 21 points in the first quarter to lead his team in scoring. Golden State raced out to a 40–27 lead in Minnesota. The Warriors, led by Curry’s 46 points, held off the Timberwolves for a 129–116 win. The victory gave Golden State a franchise-record 10th win to start a season. They’re the fourth defending champion to start a season with at least 10 straight wins.
Curry hit 15 of his 25 shots, with eight of them three-pointers. Draymond Green added 23 points and 12 rebounds. No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns posted a double double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and Andrew Wiggins scored 19 points for Minnesota.
