With 7:45 left in the fourth and the Knicks leading 88–81, Williams came in from behind on an Amundson post-up and offered a wayward block attempt, striking his opponent almost entirely on the shoulder and sending him to the ground.

The play was ruled a flagrant-2 foul, and Williams was sent off to the locker room. He finished with two points and one rebound in just under 30 minutes of play.

The Knicks would hold their lead and go on to win 102–94.
