Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson is out 2–3 weeks with a strained left calf, the team announced Monday.

An MRI on Monday confirmed the initial diagnosis of the injury, which was sustained by Jefferson in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Jefferson, who exited the game with just one point, was replaced by Cody Zeller in Milwaukee’s eventual 87–82 victory.

Before the injury, the 30-year-old was averaging 14.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest this season.

A 10-year NBA veteran, Jefferson was selected by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft.
