Clippers' Paul out for game against Pacers

LOS ANGELES (AP) Chris Paul was a late scratch from the Los Angeles Clippers' starting lineup against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, and is expected to miss more than one game, according to coach Doc Rivers..

Paul, who exited the Clippers' game on Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers in the third quarter with a strained rib muscle, was examined on Wednesday, but no timetable was established for the point guard's return.

''Chris is out, and I'm assuming for the next couple of games, for sure,'' Rivers said before the game.

Paul, an eight-time All-Star who has led the NBA in assists four times, is averaging 17.0 points and 8.3 assists this season.

Paul missed three games last month with a sore right groin.
