Newly-hired 76ers chairman of basketball operations Jerry Colangelo is discussing a coaching role with Mike D’Antoni that could begin some time in December, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

D’Antoni, who last coached the Lakers during the 2013–14 season, would be added Brett Brown’s staff as the team’s associate head coach.

The four-time NBA head coach was with the Phoenix Suns during Colangelo’s tenure, and has also worked with him through USA Basketball.

On Friday, the Sixers announced a two-year contract extension for Brown, theie head coach since the 2013–14 season. The news came days after Colangelo, a hall-of-famer, was added as the team’s new chairman of basketball operations.

The Sixers have started the 2015–16 season with one win in their first 24 games.​
