NEW YORK (AP) Carmelo Anthony will miss the Knicks' game against Brooklyn because of a sprained right ankle.

The Knicks' leading scorer was hurt Tuesday in a victory over Boston just before halftime. He started the second half but quickly realized he couldn't continue, leaving the game for good in the opening minute of the third quarter.

Anthony leads the Knicks with 21.6 points per game.

Coach Derek Fisher says Lance Thomas will likely start at forward Wednesday. He says he hopes Anthony can return Saturday against Memphis.
