Dallas Mavericks center Zaza Pachulia came about 14,000 votes short of earning a surprise trip to the NBA All-Star game on Thursday.

Pachulia trailed San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard by 14,227 votes when the NBA announced the final roster. He also finished ahead of Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green in the final tally.

The 31-year-old is having a career season, averaging 10.5 points and 10.8 rebounds.

Much of the support for Pachulia came after the Twitter hashtag “#NBAVOTE Zaza Pachulia,” went viral in his home country of Georgia.
