New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis sustained a concussion in his team’s 112–111 loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday night, the team announced.

Davis experienced the head injury late in the first half when he was inadvertently elbowed by Tyreke Evans while going up for a defensive rebound. He was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Davis will now have to go through the NBA’s concussion protocol before returning to the court, and thus, will likely miss some time.

In 38 games played this season, the 22-year-old is averaging 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
