DeMarcus Cousins day-to-day after spraining left ankle in loss to Grizzlies

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins left Saturday’s 121–117 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a left leg injury and is questionable to return.

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins left Saturday’s 121–117 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a left ankle sprain. X-rays were negative and the center is day-to-day, the team announced.

As Cousins and center Marc Gasol attempted to secure up a loose ball late in the fourth quarter, Gasol dove and fell on Cousins’s ankle, sending Cousins to the ground in pain.

He was helped to the locker room, and was unable to put ay weight on his left foot.

Cousins finished with 17 points on 3-of-17 shooting to go along with 14 rebounds. Entering the weekend, he was averaging a career-high 27.2 points per game, with 11.2 boards.
