Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins reportedly asked his team to remove “Year of the Monkey” shirts from the stands Monday night, according to Milwaukee Bucks television analyst Marques Johnson.

The monkey shirts were part of the NBA’s recognition of the Chinese New Year. Monday also marked the start of Black History Month. Cousins “voice[d] his displeasure” with the monkey shirts coinciding with the start Black History Month, reports Johnson.

Players and coaches are wearing Black History month shirts during warmups.

The Kings are hosting the Bucks in the first game of a two-game homestand.
