Kyrie Irving’s two free throws with seven seconds remaining appeared to close out the Cleveland Cavaliers’ latest victory over the Boston Celtics. Then, Evan Turner knifed his way through the Cavs’ defense for an and-1 layup. He missed the free throw and the loose rebound out of bounds was awarded to Boston.
The officiating crew retreated to the scorer’s table to replay the critical rebound, allowing Celtics coach and noted after-timeout play-calling genius Brad Stevens several minutes to draw up a potential game-winning play.
Emerging from the huddle, Isaiah Thomas caught the inbounds pass and drove the left baseline as a decoy, only to kick the ball back to a rotating Avery Bradley. The Celtics’ two-guard bobbled the pass, but managed to find his footing in the left corner to rise up and drain a game-winning triple at the buzzer.

The Celtics walked off with a 104–103 victory, recovering from what appeared to a blown seven-point lead with 4:01 remaining. Bradley finished with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the outside. Thomas led Boston with 22 points.
The Cavaliers wasted a 30-point effort from LeBron James. Kevin Love left the game just before the end of the third quarter with a left thigh bruise.
