Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has a torn labrum, the team announced Thursday.

Kidd-Gilchrist sustained the injury in his team’s 117–95 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night when Ian Mahinmi fell on his right side in the third quarter. It is unknown how long he will be sidelined for.

Kidd-Gilchrist underwent surgery after dislocating and tearing his labrum in the same shoulder in a preseason game in October. He returned to the lineup on Jan. 29.

The first round selection in the 2012 draft out of Kentucky is averaging 12.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in seven games this season.

• Trade deadline: Who could move?

The Hornets signed Kidd-Gilchrist to a four-year, $52 million extension in the off-season.
