Doc Rivers, Gregg Popovich to attend funeral for Monty Williams's wife

Rivers and Popovich will attend the funeral before their game at the Staples Center.

Doc Rivers and Gregg Popovich plan to be in attendance for the funeral of Ingrid Williams, the wife of Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports and Anthony Slater of NewsOK.com report.

Ingrid Williams died after suffering injuries during an automobile accident. Williams, 44, was involved in the accident after she was hit by a woman who crossed over the center lane. The mother of five was taken to a hospital where she was treated for life-threatening injuries before dying.

Monty Williams was the head coach of the New Orleans Hornets, and later the Pelicans, from 2010 to ’15 before joining Billy Donovan’s staff in Oklahoma City.

Rivers and Popovich will attend the funeral in Oklahoma City before their game at 7:30 pm. PT at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
