The Houston Rockets will sign forward Michael Beasley, reports ESPN’s Marc Stein.
Beasley, 27 was named MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association earlier this week. He averaged 31.9 points, 13.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Shandong Golden Stars this season.
The Rockets’ deal with Beasley includes a team option for next season, reports Stein.
A former No. 2 overall pick of the Miami Heat, Beasley played in brief stints for Miami each of the last two seasons. In 2014–15, he averaged 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 24 games.
In seven NBA seasons, Beasley has averaged 13 points and 4.8 rebounds in just more than 24 minutes per game. The Rockets are eighth in the Western Conference at 29–31.
