Clippers’ Branden Dawson arrested for spousal abuse
Los Angeles Clippers forward Branden Dawson was arrested Sunday on suspicion of spousal abuse, according to the Associated Press.
Dawson, 23, was arrested and taken into custody at 7:30 a.m. in the Playa Vista area of Los Angeles. He was later released on $50,000 bail.
"It's an awful situation,'' Clippers coach Doc Rivers said to media Sunday. "I have a daughter. So, it's a terrible situation, but we'll figure out what we want to do and how we want to handle it."
A rookie out of Michigan State, Dawson has played in three games with the Clippers this season. He has played in 26 D-League games, spending time with Bakersfield, Erie and Grand Rapids.
