Scottie Pippen: 1995–96 Bulls would beat Warriors head-to-head

Despite the Golden State Warriors drawing closer to breaking the 1995–96 Chicago Bulls’ record for most wins in a season, former Bulls forward Scottie Pippen thinks Chicago would beat Golden State in a head-to-head matchup.
“Bulls in four [games],” Pippen said of a hypothetical playoff series between today’s Warriors and the 1995–96 Bulls, according to ESPN.

The Hall of Famer played for the 1995–96 Bulls squad that set the record for the best NBA single season with a 72–10 mark. In the hypothetical Bulls-Warriors postseason matchup, Pippen said he would be charged with guarding Steph Curry and that he could limit last season’s MVP to fewer than 20 points. Teammate Michael Jordan would take on Klay Thompson, Pippen said.
“I think that my size and length would bother [Curry] a little bit,” Pippen, who played at 6'8", 210 pounds, said of 6'3", 185-pound Curry.

The Warriors improved to 69–8 with their 136–111 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night, and will try to secure win No. 70 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.
With five games left to play, the Warriors can lose only one more contest and still break the record.
