Stephen Curry (ankle) out for Warriors’ Game 2 vs. Rockets

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was held out out of Game 2 against the Houston Rockets due to an ankle injury. The team announced before their 115–106 Game 2 victory that Curry would not play.
The reigning NBA MVP tweaked his right ankle during the second quarter of the Warriors’ 104–78 Game 1 win against the Rockets on Saturday. After the game, he told reporters he expected to play in Game 2, despite head coach Steve Kerr labeling him as questionable. Curry then missed practice on Sunday, as well as his team’s morning shootaround on Monday.

The 28-year-old, who underwent two surgeries during the 2011–12 season on his right ankle, had 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting in 20 minutes before heading to the locker room to tend to the injury.
The Warriors visit the Rockets for Game 3 on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET.
