Dr. David Fischer, who served as the team physician for the 1992 U.S. Olympic "Dream Team", has decided to auction off Michael Jordan's shoes and a basketball used by the team at the Summer Games in Barcelona, according to the Associated Press.
“This was such a unique team,” Fischer told the AP. “It was the greatest sports team ever put together. There are other basketball fans and collectors out there. It’s just a good time to let other people enjoy them.”
Jordan was among the first professional players who were allowed to play in the Olympics, just four years after the Americans finished third in 1988 Olympics in Seoul.
Among the items that are for auction are a pair of game-worn, autographed shoes from nearly the entire roster as well as a Dream Team Olympic championship ring, which he was awarded after they won gold. He will also feature a slew of basketballs and photographs that are signed by the whole team.

Heritage Auctions will serve as the auction house handling the bidding process. The auction has already started online. The pair of Jordan's shoes are going for $16,000 as of Friday night. The auction will close on May 13 at 10 p.m.
It is estimated that the whole collection could fetch Fischer somewhere between $150,000-200,000.
