Spurs guard Manu Ginobili has announced he will return to the NBA next season.

In a post written in Spanish on his personal blog, Ginobili stated his intent to continue playing, amid some speculation he might retire. The tone of his post suggested the decision to keep playing was an easy one.

Ginobili, 38, has spent his entire fourteen-year career with the Spurs. The four-time NBA champion holds career averages of 14 points, 4 assists and 3.7 rebounds. He recently opted out of his contract and is a free agent, but reports have indicated he is likely to remain with San Antonio.

Ginobili’s agent told the San Antonio Express-News that Ginobili’s first choice is to stay in San Antonio, provided the two sides can work out an appropriate contract.

The Spurs are still waiting on the status of franchise cornerstone Tim Duncan, who is believed to be mulling his own retirement at age 40. Duncan has opted into his contract for next season.
