Tim Duncan noncommittal about future after Game 6 loss to Thunder

San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan was noncommittal about his NBA future after his team was eliminated from the playoffs in a 113–99 loss to the Thunder on Thursday.

San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan was noncommittal about his NBA future after his team was eliminated from the playoffs in a 113–99 Game 6 loss to the Thunder on Thursday. 

“I’ll get to that after I get out of here and figure life out,” he said via Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News

The 40-year-old struggled in the playoffs this season, averaging the lowest minutes of his career (20.4) and scoring just 4.4 points per game. However, he finished off the series with a strong performance, scoring 19 points and grabbing five rebounds in 33 minutes. 

Duncan averaged 8.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in his 19th season with the Spurs, helping the team to a franchise-record 67 wins in the regular season.

He is one of the most effective big men in the history of the NBA, being named the league’s MVP twice, an All-Star 15 times and earning 10 first team All-NBA nods.

Duncan has averaged 19.0 points and 10.8 rebounds over 1,392 career regular season games. He was taken with the No. 1 pick in the 1997 draft out of Wake Forest after being named a consensus first team All-American twice.
