The Brooklyn Nets have officially waived guard Jarrett Jack, the team announced Thursday.

The Nets had been attempting to trade Jack before the start of free agency, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, but couldn’t find a team to take on his $6.3 million contract.

Brooklyn will only be on the hook for $500,000 because they have waived Jack before July 1.

Jack averaged 12.8 points and 7.4 assists in 2015–16, but tore his ACL in January.

According to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Nets hope to replace Jack with Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin.
