Three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade left the league in shock on Wednesday night when he agreed to leave the Miami Heat after 13 years to sign a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bulls.
Wade, 34, decided to leave town after the Heat re-signed center Hassan Whiteside to a long-term max deal, and failed to offer him a salary he felt was acceptable after years of taking pay-cuts. His new deal will reportedly pay him $47.5 million over two years, with a player option in year two.
Players from Whiteside, to Bulls forward Bobby Portis reacted in total shock to the move.
