Kevin Durant has signed a two-year, $54 million deal to join the Golden State Warriors, and will be introduced at a press conference on Thursday afternoon in Oakland, Calif.

Durant, a 27-year-old former MVP and four-time NBA scoring champion, was the top free agent on the market. He held meetings with the Thunder, Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Celtics and Heat before circling back to meet with Oklahoma City again on Sunday. He turned down invitations to meet with the Knicks and his hometown Wizards, among others.

He joins a Warriors team that lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year’s NBA Finals, becoming the first team in history to blow a 3–1 series lead. To make space for Durant, the team renounced forward Harrison Barnes and bigman Festus Ezeli, and dealt center Andrew Bogut to Dallas.
