The Oklahoma City Thunder have rescinded shooting guard Dion Waiters’s qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent, reports The Vertical’s Chris Mannix.
Waiters played in 78 games for the Thunder last regular season, averaging 9.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game. He joined Oklahoma City midway through the 2014–15 season via a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Thunder had previously offered Waiters a one-year, $6.7 million qualifying offer, which gave them the ability to match any contract Waiters signed during the off-season. Waiters is now free to sign with any team.
The No. 4 overall pick of the 2012 NBA draft, Waiters has averaged 12.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in his four-year NBA career.
