Allen Iverson: 'I wanted to be like Mike’

Former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday night and then paid tribute to Michael Jordan in his speech.

Iverson was spotted crying before he took the podium and then nearly broke down in tears when he thanked all of the people that impacted his basketball career.

"Man, I wanted to be like Mike,” Iverson said.

Iverson met high expectations after being selected with the No. 1 pick of the 1996 draft by winning the Rookie of the Year award. He was named the 2001 NBA MVP and finished his career with the seventh highest scoring average and ranked 12th all-time in steals and 23rd in points.
