Phil Jackson commented on Derrick Rose’s ongoing sexual assault case at Knicks media day on Friday, telling reporters he didn’t think it was “something that’s keeping him up at night.”
Rose has been embroiled in a civil case surrounding an alleged sexual battery committed with two associates in August 2013. His trial is set for Oct. 4 in Los Angeles.
Recently, a judge ruled his accuser must make her identity public.
“We anticipate that it won’t affect his season, games or training camp,” Jackson said.
He added: “We’ll let it run its course.”
According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Jackson declined comment when asked how much he had investigated Rose’s case ahead of acquiring him from the Chicago Bulls this off-season.
