Draymond Green on potential Finals rematch with Cavs: ‘I want to annihilate them’
Draymond Green is still peeved about the way last season’s NBA Finals ended.
In an interview on Monday with NBA.com’s David Aldridge, Green didn’t mince his words when discussing a potential Finals rematch with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He said he wanted to “destroy” and “annihilate” the team that came back from a 3–1 deficit to win the title in 2015.
“If Cleveland comes out of the east, I want to destroy Cleveland,” Green said. “No ifs, ands and buts about it. But I also know that there’s steps to get to that point. And if and when we get to that point, I want to annihilate them.”
• Green: Teams trying to 'punk' Warriors
Green missed Game 5 of the Finals after he was automatically suspended for accruing four flagrant foul points. Two of the points were earned on a groin kick of the Thunder’s Steven Adams.
The Warriors will get their first shot at revenge against the Cavaliers when they travel to Cleveland on Christmas Day.
