The Boston Celtics offered Jaylen Brown a four-year contract extension worth $80 million, according to Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes. Brown believes that he could be a bigger star for the team and is reportedly pursuing a bigger offer.

The latest contract report comes just days after Brown announced Jason Glushon will be taking over as his agent to handle contract negotiations. Brown made it through the first three years of his career without any agent but was assisted by his mother and other advisors.

Brown, 22, was selected by the Celtics with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. He finished last season averaging 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Over the summer, he spent time with Team USA during its disappointing seventh-place finish in the FIBA World Cup in China.

Monday marks the deadline for 2016 first-round draft picks, who are heading into the last year of their original rookie-scale deals, to sign extensions.

If Brown does not reach an extension, he will be a restricted free agent in July 2020.
